WML isn the programing langue that WAP sites used. Standing for "Wireless Markup Language". It's quite similar to HTML and XHTML. Each page is a card eg

As you can see they are very similar.
WML is a .xml file not a .html. CSS is supported. But is not offten used as older devices just can't display the colours and animations. Wml is now adead Language similar to Wap
building a wml page is easy but displaying it is not. All majour broswers don't support it as perviously stated it was only really used by phones.
GPRS is the equivelent of 2.5G and EDGE being 2.75. GPRS allowed phones easily to use WAP. All you needed was a APN and IP-address and you were set (all preovied by your service
provider). And boom your online. Introcued in 2000 by BT here in the uk. All of a sudden phones were able to be allways online and have internet applications(using ).Suddenly
sending MMS got faster allowing bigger files like photo's and music. Web speeds skyrocketed.
Edge took this to new length's with faster and faster speeds. Intoduced in 2003. It used GPRS and improved it to new lengths with even better bit rates. Even today EDGE is still
supported by a ot of phones. The Iphone back in 2007 had EDGE until being replace with 3G the following age.
By the end of the 2000's wap faded into obsucrity as phones began to be powerful to run http and https websites making these sperate sites useless and not needed. 3G allowed phones
to have speeds what rivialed some wifi speeds. Phones like the Iphone had proccessers what could run the javascript and html. And google app store and apple app stores became a
thing which ment the need to go on the web for stuff orther than questions was revelient. Now days WAP is bassically dead orther than some small exmaples.
